The first Retired fisherman tournament was held on Zorinski lake, and it went Smooth as glass.
The combatants were #1 Bill Collins, #2 Larry Podkovich.
Blast was conducted promptly at 7 AM, and fished hard for 5 hours. At noon we gathered at the launch ramp and turned in the cards.
The total is as follows. Bill scored 1, 18 inch Large mouth bass for 290 points. Larry blanked.
So Bill got Big Bass and Big stringer. :D

Visibility, 18 to 24 inch

The next tournament will be held at Walnut Creek April 19. Blast will be at 7AM.

O.K. The results, for the second "Retired fisherman" tournament, held on Walnut Creek, starting at 7AM this morning.
The Competitors are as listed.
#1 Larry Podkovich (there were no others)
I caught no scorable fish. (so I either finished first, or last)
Air temp, at blast, was 29 degrees. Warming up quickly to upper 40s at noon.
Wind was very slight out of the North.
Water temp was 41/42 at the ramp, warming up to 44 at noon.
Water clarity on the main lake was 16 to 24 inches. Up the arm was 8 to 12 inches.
The draw for tournament to be held April 26 at Lake Wanahoo
Blast will be 6:30 (or safe light) till 11:30

The third Retired fishermen tournament is now in the books.
This event was held for 3 members, Larry Podkovich, Rocky Loman and Bill Collins.
Blast off was held promptly at 6:30, and the competitors headed for there secret spot.
A total of 3 Bass were caught early, before the 11:30 finish.
I stuck a 16.0 and 16.5
Bill caught a 16.0
Rocky blanked.
All the fish were caught early, in the first hour or so.
Weather was Cold and breezy. Air temp at blast was 40. Water at the ramp was 46 and rose to 51 at the bridge. Water at the dam was 46 and stained.
The lake is down a good 2 feet, and man that changes everything. Cant get to the bank in the bays...
all kinds of structure in up on the bank. Kind of a new deal now.
Next week, May 3rd, the tournament will be held Cunningham, with a 6:30 blast.

#4 at Lake Cunningham was a real special event.
Started off with heavy fog at the ramp, with a slight breeze out of the N west.
Jim Collins and Larry Podkovich were the only competitors. And the only boat on the lake.
Left the ramp at 6:15 and headed to the other end of the lake (in heavy fog).
Larry stuck 2 nice fish on Chatterbait, and they both came unzipped at the boat.
Finely got a 20.25 in the boat, on squarebill. Continued fishing in the rain for about an hour, then the lightning started...we got off the water at 10:30
Water was 59 to 60 everywhere, and stained. Muddy (from last nights rain) at the far end.
Jim couldn't get a bite.
Jim drew Cunningham again for next weeks tournament

#5 Cunningham
Larry Podkovich was the only competitor (I like them odds).
Blast was called at 5:50 am and all went well.
Ran all the way up to the pick nick bay, near the rock jetties. Water was muddy, but the wind was calm and the water was glass smooth. Could see schools of Gill blowing up everywhere. Threw Pop-R, Buzz bait, Square bill and Senko's
A breeze picked up from the N W and the Sun came out
Worked down the banks and all around the rock brows. Tried every thing. Finally found a willing fish on the Dam, 17 inch,s and finished (at 11) with just that one.
Fished up the camp ground arm for an additional hour without any luck.
Drew Wannahoo for next weeks (May 17)
Rocky will be running that event, please refer all questions to Rocky,
